Directed by Taiwanese-American Justin Lin (Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift), Better Luck Tomorrow is a movie exploring the mentality of today’s youth. Ben appears to be the perfect high school teenager, an intelligent overachiever whose goal is to graduate top of the class and gain acceptance to the best Ivy League university. Unknown to everyone, Ben leads a double life carrying out petty crimes with his friends Virgil and Han as a way to release from the pressures of having to constantly perform. During freshman year Ben befriends senior valedictorian Daris, a fellow overachiever and perfectionist and when these four Asian friends form a suburban gang, their schemes escalate to guns, theft, drugs and even murder leading to the film’s final disturbing ending.
